About Find the Frog
Find the Frog is a gentle, no-ads game for children aged 3 to 6 that teaches the little words of position — behind, in front of, next to, on top of and under. Our Tadpole frog spins in and hides somewhere around a picture — a dog, a cat, a dinosaur or a flower — and your child taps the phrase that says where he is. Get it right and he does a happy wiggle, and you win a star.
It grows with them. It starts with just the two easiest words — behind and in front of — then adds next to, then on top of and under as your child gets confident. Every wrong answer keeps the same animal and only changes the position word, so your child has to look carefully at where the frog really is.
How to play
- Watch the frog spin in and land somewhere around the picture.
- Look at where he is hiding — behind it? in front of it? next to it?
- Tap the button that says where the frog is. Each button has a little picture to help.
- Get it right and the frog wiggles — you win a star, and it nudges a little harder. Find it tricky and it eases back.
Why position words matter
Words like behind, under and next to are some of the first bits of grammar a young child uses — and they’re a real part of early maths too (“position and direction” in the Early Years and Year 1). Knowing them helps with following instructions, tidying up, describing where things are and understanding stories. There are no timers, no streaks and no flashing rewards: just a frog to find and a little star when it clicks.
