Tadpole Games is a small set of no-ads educational games for children, made in the UK. There's a generous free tier; an optional membership (paid by an adult) unlocks all the games. You can cancel any time. Please use the games fairly and don't try to copy or resell them. Nothing here takes away the legal rights you have as a consumer.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are the agreement between you and us for using Tadpole Games. By using the website at tadpolegames.com or our apps, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
Tadpole Games is operated by Difflex Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09803430 (trading as "Tadpole Games"), whose registered office is at First Floor North, 40 Oxford Road, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, HP11 2EE. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Difflex Ltd. You can contact us at [email protected].
Tadpole Games is a collection of educational word, maths, language and geography games designed for children. We offer a free tier (a daily puzzle in selected games) and an optional Premium membership that unlocks all of the games with unlimited play and no ads. We may add, change or remove games and features over time.
The games are made for children to play, but accounts and purchases are for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old, and the parent, guardian, or another responsible adult, to create an account, take out a membership, or make any payment. By doing so, you confirm you are an adult and that any child playing does so with your permission and supervision.
Membership uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-tap "magic link" rather than a password. Please keep access to your email secure, as anyone with your sign-in link could access your membership. You're responsible for activity that happens through your account. Let us know promptly at [email protected] if you think your account has been used without your permission.
Premium is available as:
Prices are in pounds sterling and include any applicable taxes. We may change our prices, but a change will never affect a billing period you've already paid for; we'll tell you before any change to a recurring price.
Recurring plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period using your saved payment method, until you cancel. Payments on our website are processed securely by Stripe; we don't store your card details. If you buy or manage a membership inside our mobile app via the Apple App Store or Google Play, that purchase is handled by Apple or Google and is also subject to their terms — including how renewals and refunds are managed.
You can cancel a recurring membership at any time from the Account page (web purchases use Stripe's billing portal; App Store / Google Play purchases are cancelled through your device's subscription settings). When you cancel, you keep Premium access until the end of the period you've already paid for, and it won't renew after that.
As a consumer, you may have a legal right to a 14-day "cooling-off" cancellation under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations. Because Premium is digital content and a service supplied immediately, by starting to use Premium during that period you acknowledge that your right to cancel may be lost once access has begun. Regardless, if something isn't right, contact us at [email protected] — we want you to be happy and will deal with refund requests fairly and in line with your legal rights. Refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
Please use Tadpole Games for its intended purpose — learning and play. You agree not to:
The games, their design, software, branding and content are owned by Difflex Ltd or our licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Tadpole Games for your and your family's own non-commercial enjoyment. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Some word data is derived from publicly available word lists, and certain photographs and maps used in some games are credited within those games and used under their respective licences.
We aim to keep all content age-appropriate and child-friendly, and the games do not include user-generated content, chat, or social features. As with any screen activity, we recommend an adult chooses the games and supervises younger children's play.
We work hard to keep Tadpole Games running well, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available, and we may suspend or withdraw all or part of it for maintenance or other operational reasons. The games are an educational aid, not a substitute for formal schooling, and we don't warrant any particular learning outcome.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — this includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for your statutory rights as a consumer, which remain unaffected.
Subject to that, we are not liable for losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breach, or for any business losses (we supply the service for personal, domestic use only). If we are found liable to you despite these Terms, our total liability arising from your use of the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes affecting members may be notified by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
You can stop using Tadpole Games at any time and delete your account from the Account page. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, or where we're required to by law. If we close a paid membership other than for your breach, we'll refund any period you've paid for but not received.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you live in another part of the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing here affects your mandatory rights as a consumer in your country of residence.
