The endings "-cious"/"-tious" ("delicious", "cautious") and "-cial"/"-tial" ("official", "essential") round out the harder spelling patterns. Your child also meets long, rare words built from smaller parts — "autobiography", "archaeology", "telecommunication". The final term is mostly revision, ahead of the end-of-year tests. This is standard Year 6 spelling teaching in England.
