Kindergarten phonics games
Ages 5–6
Teaches phonics, blending sounds into around 200 simple words.
Opens Tick or Fix.
Your child spends nearly the whole year on letter sounds, blending them into words, and a small set of "trick words" that don't sound out the regular way — words like "the", "was" and "said". Right at the very end of the year, the first two word-building pieces appear: "un-" and "re-" added to the front of words. This matches what's covered in Kindergarten classrooms across the US.
Checked against the Common Core reading standards for Kindergarten (RF.K.2 and RF.K.3).

Opening a game from this page sets the school year to Kindergarten, and every game then keeps the words at that level — so a Kindergarten child gets Kindergarten words, not a guess. The school year is a tap away inside the game, so a child moving up a year, or a younger sibling taking a turn, changes it in seconds.
