Prefixes "un-", "dis-", "mis-", "re-" and endings "-ful", "-less", "-ly", "-ness", "-er", "-est" turn familiar words into new ones. Irregular past tense is covered too — "blow" becomes "blew", "catch" becomes "caught" — alongside plural rules like "-ies", plus real homophones like "here" and "hear". This is standard Year 3 spelling teaching in England.

Checked against the National Curriculum in England, published by the Department for Education.

Games that match Year 3

Opening a game from this page sets the school year to Year 3, and every game then keeps the words at that level — so a Year 3 child gets Year 3 words, not a guess. The school year is a tap away inside the game, so a child moving up a year, or a younger sibling taking a turn, changes it in seconds.

Same ages in the US: Grade 2 (ages 7–8).
